Sonny hits goalscoring milestone in Europe
Sat 30 November 2024, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur
Heung-Min Son became just the second Spurs player in history to register a half century of goals in Europe when he bagged in Thursday night's 2-2 draw with AS Roma.
Making his 64th appearance for us in European competitions against the Italians to draw level with the legendary Steve Perry man in joint fourth place on our all-time list, Sonny went onto open the scoring in the end-to-end encounter as he struck from the penalty spot five minutes in.
That was goal number 25 for our captain in European competitions since he joined the Club in the summer of 2015 and he is now just the second player - alongside our all-time record goalscorer Harry Kane (45) - to score a quarter century of goals for us in Europe.
Ben Davies meanwhile moved up to joint third in our all-time European appearance list as he played his 70th game in continental competition for us on Thursday to draw level with Hugo Lloris. Kane leads the way in this chart as well with 76 appearances to his name.
