Saturday saw six of our players in action, picking up three wins and a draw across three different competitions for their nations.

There were wins for Rodrigo Bentancur on duty with Uruguay, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall, who were both representing Sweden and for Leo Black with England's Under-19s.

Whilst Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson were held to a goalless draw for Wales with Turkey, which gives them everything to play for heading into the final matchday of the UEFA Nations League.

Rodrigo Bentancur - Uruguay 3-2 Colombia

In the early hours of the morning, Rodrigo started and completed the 90 as La Celeste edged a five-goal thriller at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo.

Colombia were ahead at the break thanks to a Juan Quintero goal just after the half hour mark, before a Davinson Sanchez own goal levelled proceedings 57 minutes in.

Three minutes later Rodrigo Aguirre fired Marcelo Bielsa's side ahead, only for Andrés Gómez to once again level the game in the sixth minute of second half stoppage time.

But with it looking like the points would be shared, Los Charrúas dug deep and carved out a final chance in the 11th minute of added time, as a ball over the top was knocked down for Manuel Ugarte to half-volley home for his first senior international goal.

That late, late winner was enough to fire Uruguay into second in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying group, ahead of Colombia on goal difference, seven points clear of seventh-placed Venezuela in the intercontinental play-off spot, with seven games left to play.

Dejan Kulusevski & Lucas Bergvall - Sweden 2-1 Slovakia

Lucas was an unused sub, but Dejan started and completed the 90 as Sweden picked up a crucial 2-1 win over Slovakia at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm.

Former Coventry City talisman Viktor Gyokeres opened the scoring just three minutes in, as Deki won the ball back on the halfway line, before it was worked into Gyokeres by Alexander Isak, with the former charging into the box and firing across the keeper to give his side the lead.

David Hancko levelled proceedings 19 minutes later and the sides were level at the interval, before the roles were reversed for the second Swedish goal three minutes into the second half.

Gyokeres became the provider, finding Isak inside the box who fired home for what turned out to be the winner, before Milan Skriniar saw red in the 90th minute for the visitors.

The result maintains the Blågult's unbeaten record in UEFA Nations League Group C1 and takes them three points clear of Slovakia in second, who will need a three-point and five-goal swing on the final matchday to dislodge Jon-Dahl Tomasson's side from the top spot.

Ben Davies & Brennan Johnson - Turkey 0-0 Wales

Ben wore the armband again and Brennan started before being substituted late on as Wales played out a goalless draw in Kayseri.

The first half saw Karl Darlow produce a big save to keep the score level half an hour in, before Jordan James put the ball in the net for Craig Bellamy's side, only for the goal to be chalked off for offside and Harry Wilson hit the post in stoppage time.

The second half was a nervy affair, and Turkey were gifted an opportunity to win it after Neco Williams brought down Yunus Akgun inside the box with a minute to play, only for Kerem Akturkoglu to roll his spot-kick against the post.

The result extends Bellamy's unbeaten start as manager to five games, and means it's all to play for on the final matchday in UEFA Nations League Group B4, as Turkey lead the group with a two-point cushion over The Dragons, who themselves have the same advantage over Iceland who they face on Tuesday night.

A win could see them top the table and win automatic promotion to League A if results go their way, whilst a defeat would knock them out of promotion contention and into the relegation play-offs.

Leo Black - England Under-19s 2-1 Bulgaria Under-19s

Leo was an unused substitute as his side secured their spot in the elite round of EURO 2025 qualifying by beating Bulgaria.

Adrian Raychev's long-range effort gave Bulgaria the lead just five minutes in, but Will Antwi's side came back to lead before the break thanks to goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Lewis Orford.

The Young Lions looked comfortable throughout the second half, dominating possession and narrowly missing out on a third goal to settle the game and can secure top spot in the group when they face second-placed Belgium on Tuesday night (12pm UK).
