Pape kicks off Christmas programme of community support
• Pape visited Earlham Primary School in Wood Green on Tuesday to take part in a festive arts workshop
• The session was run through the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s “Tottenham Futures” programme that engages children aged 10-17 through workshops and games
• It kicks-off a series of activity over the Christmas period in which the Club will be supporting our local community, including toy drives for local children and food bank deliveries in Tottenham and Enfield
Tottenham Futures is a life skills and development programme, funded by London’s Violence Reduction Unit, that engages local children aged 10-17 through workshops and games. Activities vary from football and expressive arts to cooking classes and career advice sessions.
Speaking at the school, Pape outlined why he believes it is so important that players engage with their Club’s communities.
Pape said: “It is always a pleasure to meet children in our local area and see them engaging in activities that put smiles on their faces. I think it is great that the Club and our Foundation are so involved in the community, helping kids with their development by providing support through these initiatives.”
Also in attendance at the school was Marc Leckie, CEO of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, who said: “We strive to inspire and empower local residents through programmes like Tottenham Futures, and visits like this from Pape around the festive season bring an added sprinkle of joy.
“It’s tradition that the Club, with support from the Foundation, really steps up at Christmas to lend a helping hand to some of the most vulnerable in our community, at what can be such a difficult time of year.
“We’ll be doing this through an array of initiatives, plus hosting sessions to mark the hard work of participants in the Foundation’s regular programmes throughout 2024.”
The Club sits within one of London’s most deprived areas and is committed to providing support for some of the most vulnerable groups within our community over the Christmas period.
We were recently announced as the inaugural sporting partner of the Multibank UK 2024 Christmas Campaign to combat hygiene poverty in young people across the United Kingdom. Donation points will be set-up at N17 Arena and Tottenham Community Sports Centre at this weekend’s home fixture against Fulham, where match-going fans can gift essential hygiene products.
Furthermore, over the coming weeks players will be delivering toys to local children in both Haringey and Enfield, as well as making the Club’s annual delivery of essential items to our local Foodbanks in Tottenham and Enfield.
