Women’s Under-21s forward Persis Oteng finished top of the goalscoring charts in the first phase of the Professional Game Academy (PGA) League.
The young forward netted an impressive 10 goals in eight games in the PGA League, with Chelsea’s Lois Shooter and Southampton’s Tash Udebhulu in joint-second with seven goals.
Persis, who competes for Ghana at Under-19 level, scored a brilliant four goals in our 9-1 win over Crystal Palace in September before grabbing her second hat-trick of the campaign in the 4-2 win at home to Southampton.
She also found the back of the net against London City Lionesses and Bristol City to round off a fantastic start to her campaign for Nick Hardy’s side.
The Ghana Under-19 international took her impressive goalscoring form into the FA Women's National League Plate fixture with Chesham United as she netted a brace in the narrow 3-2 defeat to senior opposition, taking her tally to 12 goals in all competitions.
Our Women’s Under-21s kicked off the second phase of the PGA League with a penalty shootout victory at Brighton on Wednesday (6 November) afternoon, earning them two points in the opening game of the competition.
