Dominic Solanke made his third senior international appearance for England during Sunday’s 5-0 win over the Republic of Ireland.

The striker came off the bench for the last 15 minutes at Wembley as the Three Lions saw out the closing stages of their match to secure promotion back to the top tier of the UEFA Nations League in emphatic style.

Our summer signing even went close to opening his goalscoring account on the international stage, but saw his effort from inside the box deflected behind.

It marked the second time this season that Dominic has featured for his country, having also appeared in the 2-1 home defeat to Greece on 10 October.

His only cap prior to that came back in 2017 when he was involved in a goalless home draw with Brazil.

England’s goals against Ireland all came in the second half, with Harry Kane’s penalty added to by efforts from Anthony Gordon, Conor Gallagher, Jarrod Bowen and Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
