Pedro Porro helped Spain secure top spot in their UEFA Nations League group with a 2-1 away win over Denmark on Friday evening.
In from the start for the third consecutive game, Pedro came close to an assist early on when his delightful through-ball found Ayoze Perez whose first-time shot struck the crossbar on 12 minutes before Mikel Oyarzabal broke the deadlock two minutes later.
Perez added a crucial second goal in the 58th minute as Danish substitute Gustav Isaksen halved the deficit six minutes from time to set up a nervy finish in Copenhagen, but Pedro and the Spanish defence stood firm to claim their fourth win on the spin.
Our dynamic full-back played the entirety of the contest on his sixth cap as La Roja head into the Nations League knockouts as League A, Group 4 winners, with the quarter-final draw held next week. Bryan Gil, on loan at La Liga side Girona, remained an unused substitute.
Staying in Europe, Radu Dragusin started for Romania against Kosovo in UNL League C, Group 2 but saw the match abandoned in second-half stoppage time with the score level at 0-0 in Bucharest.
In Under-21 action, Archie Gray started and Oxford United loanee Dane Scarlett featured as a substitute for England as they played out a goalless draw with Spain in an away friendly.
Also in action for the Young Lions, Will Lankshear scored off the bench to complete an impressive 4-0 win for the Men's Elite League Squad over Germany at Chesterfield's SMH Group Stadium. There were also substitute appearances in the Under-18s for Callum Olusesi, who lost 3-1 to Poland, and at Under-17 level for Malachi Hardy, who was given the captain's armband in their 1-1 draw with Belgium before losing 4-3 on penalties.
