Internationals | Sonny scores again as South Korea held by Palestine
Tue 19 November 2024, 17:30|Tottenham Hotspur
Heung-Min Son was on target again on Tuesday afternoon as South Korea took another step closer to reaching the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Just a few days after reaching his half-century, Sonny ticked onto 51 goals for his country with the equaliser on 16 minutes, a clinical finish across Palestine goalkeeper Rami Hamadeh from the left angle after being played in by Lee Jae-sung.
That was just four minutes after Palestine took the lead at the Amman International Stadium but despite dominating, as expected, after that - 73% possession, 16-6 efforts at goal - Korea couldn't find a winner, as it remained 1-1.
Textbook buildup, flawless finish!

The result sees South Korea move six points clear of Jordan in Group B of the third round of Asia qualifying for the World Cup, with the top two heading straight to the finals in Canada, Mexico and the USA in 2026. Jordan face Kuwait later this evening.
