As the Club for dog lovers, we are featuring a ‘Dog of the Match’ at every home game throughout the season.
Members of Tottenham Hotspaw - our first-ever Official Supporters’ Club for dog lovers - have been posting pictures of their beloved pets on the group’s Facebook page for a chance for them to be featured on the stadium big screens ahead of kick-off and in the matchday programme.
With Sunday’s match taking place on Remembrance Sunday and the Club this year laying a purple wreath, alongside a traditional red poppy wreath, in recognition of animals lost in conflict, we are featuring an additional feature dog courtesy of Nowzad.
Nowzad is a charity that delivers animal welfare in areas of armed conflict and would like to introduce three-year-old mixed breed, Bertie. He was found living on a chain in a back-yard in Ukraine before being brought to the UK by Nowzad. Bertie is friendly boy looking for a home with an experienced owner who can show him a better life. He’s super affectionate, loves to give and receive a cuddle and has a good temperament. He is a huge character and is always happy to see you. Bertie is neutered, healthy and fully vaccinated. If you are interested in giving him a forever home he deserves, email Jen at adoptions@nowzad.com.
Our ‘Dogs of the Match’ for Sunday, submitted by a Tottenham Hotspaw member are Olive, Dino and Paulie - Italian Spinones from Pennsylvania, USA. Olive is 4 years old, Dino 3 years old, and Paulie is 2 years old. They enjoy chasing rabbits and birds, chewing bones and watching their Daddy go crazy during Spurs matches! Their parents are Heath & Wendy Conrad who are attending a match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time today as a 50th birthday present for Heath.
We are also profiling a rescue dog currently up for adoption with All Dogs Matter - the fantastic charity partner of Tottenham Hotspaw - giving fans the chance to provide a forever home so badly needed.
On Sunday, we are featuring Toby - a sweet but worried 6-year-old Chihuahua who is looking for an experienced (ideally with Chihuahuas) and patient owner who can help him feel comfortable and relaxed in his new home. Toby would not suit a first-time dog owner. He can take a little while to warm up, and can be territorial, but once he knows you he is an affectionate boy who likes to cuddle. He could live in a flat and would make a great companion in the right home.
