As the Club for dog lovers, we are featuring a ‘Dog of the Match’ at every home game throughout the season.

Members of Tottenham Hotspawour first-ever Official Supporters’ Club for dog lovers - have been posting pictures of their beloved pets on the group’s Facebook page for a chance for them to be featured on the stadium big screens ahead of kick-off and in the matchday programme.

Today’s Dog of the Match is Aika, a seven-year-old German Shepherd who lives in Cornwall with her owner and handler Tash. Aika is a qualified trailing dog and, along with her owner, a volunteer for Cornwall Search Dogs, a charity which searches for missing dogs. Search work is Aika’s favourite thing to do. She also loves scent work and sometimes does competitions. Aika loves running on the beach, playing with her ball and cosying up with her owners’ other dog Cain. Aika is also helpful around the house and will help unload the washing machine! Owner Tash has been a Spurs fan for over 50 years.

Alongside our ‘Dog of the Match’, we also profile rescue dogs currently up for adoption with All Dogs Matter - the fantastic charity partner of Tottenham Hotspaw - giving fans the chance to provide a forever home so badly needed.

Today, we are featuring Gertie - a two-year-old Shih Tzu who has come to All Dogs Matter after a change in her owners’ circumstances. She’s a sweet but worried girl who can be very wary of new people, so she would like a home with experienced owners. She can be quite feisty when meeting new people, and she will not be rehomed to a family with young children or visiting children. Once she warms up to you she will be your best friend and glued to your side! She would like a home with direct access to a garden and without other dogs or cats. As Gertie doesn’t like being left alone, she will need an owner who is around most of the day.
