Romero welcomes newborn daughter

Cristian Romero was unavailable for Argentina's clash with Peru this morning, but for good reason as he welcomed his newborn daughter into the world.

Having been with the Argentina squad for Friday's defeat to Paraguay, playing the first 45 minutes before being substituted, Cuti was given leave for the World Cup qualifier with Peru to be with his wife for the birth of their daughter Lucy.

Announced via his instagram in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the defender said, "Welcome love of our lives ❤️ LUCY♥️"

"We were waiting for you my heart, DAD VALEN and MOM"
