Ange Postecoglou confirmed a hamstring issue for Richarlison and foot problem for Cuti Romero after the pair were forced off in our 4-1 victory against Villa on Sunday.
Richy made a key contribution in a 26-minute cameo off the bench in the second half. On for returning Heung-Min Son after 56 minutes, Richy set up Dominic Solanke for 3-1 on 79 minutes but was injured in the process of delivering his cross from the left. Earlier, Cuti was left feeling his right foot after a crunching challenge on Morgan Rogers and replaced by Ben Davies on 61 minutes.
Asked for an update on both players during his post-match interview on the Review Show, Ange told us: “I don’t know too much at the moment. Richy in that action setting up the goal felt something in his hamstring, which is disappointing for him. Cuti, in the challenge, he’s a tough cookie so for him to come off, he’s very sore, but we’ll have to wait and see. Look, it’s part of what every team is going through, and we just have to deal with it.”
Speaking in his press conference, Ange said: “Richy obviously felt something in the action of setting the goal up, his hamstring, so we'll see. Romero, yeah, it was in that challenge again. He felt his foot was sore. I don't have any sort of further information. obviously, he's a pretty tough cookie for him to come off, it must be sore. It's not ideal.”
