Vicario completes ever-present Premier League season

Guglielmo Vicario has joined an elite band of players who have completed an ever present campaign for us in the Premier League.

A summer signing from Empoli, the goalkeeper played every single minute for us as he enjoyed a stunning debut season in England's top flight.

Making his debut in our opening day clash with Brentford way back in August, the shot stopper has gone on to start every game for us since and has delivered incredible performances along the way.

Making 110 saves in his 38 appearances in the competition, he has became our first goalkeeper since Paul Robinson in 2007/08 to go an entire Premier League season without making an error that has lead to a goal.

Guglielmo joins a club of just 12 other players to have played every fixture in a single Premier League season for us since  the formation of the league in 1992.

He joins a who's who of goalkeepers to achieve the feat - Ian Walker, Kasey Keller, Paul Robinson, Brad Friedel and Hugo Lloris.

Robbo was the first player to do it twice in the Premier League era - 2005/06 and 2006/07 - and played 131 of his first 135 available matches in the Premier League after joining us in 2004. Since then, Harry Kane (2015/16, 2022/23) and Hugo (2020/21, 2021/22) have also completed multiple ever present campaigns.

In total, 64 different players have completed ever present seasons for us in the Football League/Premier League. Legendary former skipper Steve Perryman leads the way with eight, followed by 1950s title hero Ted Ditchburn with five.
