Robert Vilahamn confirmed that defender Amanda Nilden will miss our season finale in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Saturday afternoon (3pm UK) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Amanda was stretchered off in the closing stages of the first half in Wednesday’s defeat to Chelsea and Robert revealed that, although she doesn’t need surgery, the Sweden international will be sidelined for a number of weeks with an ankle injury, ruling her out of the final game of the season against West Ham United.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, he told the media: “We did the MRA scan, she twisted her ankle quite badly so she will be out for several weeks, but she won’t need any surgery.
“She will not play tomorrow (Saturday 18 May) and she won’t be involved in the national team coming up, it’s around four to six weeks before we can have her back.”
In positive news, goalkeeper Becky Spencer and defender Molly Bartrip are back available for this weekend’s game after the pair missed our midweek fixture with Chelsea at Brisbane Road.
Please note, tickets are no longer available to buy for the game and supporters are advised not to travel to N17 without a ticket.
