Team news | Everton vs Spurs (WSL) | Defender out, trio set to return

Fri 03 May 2024, 14:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Martha Thomas, Drew Spence and Celin Bizet are back in contention for Saturday’s clash against Everton, but Robert Vilahamn confirmed that Amy James-Turner will be unavailable for the trip to Walton Hall Park.

Celin, who has six goal involvements this season (four goals and two assists), has missed our last two games in the WSL after a minor ankle injury but the Norway international returned to training this week and is back available for selection.

Martha and Drew were also not involved in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, but Robert announced in his pre-match press conference that the pair will be in the fold against Everton in the Barclays Women’s Super League this weekend.

However, Amy will not travel to Merseyside after the experienced defender picked up a small issue, but she could return for the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final against Manchester United next weekend (Sunday 12 May).

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday (3 May), when asked about the latest team news, the boss said: “Amy will be out with a small issue and will not be with us, but, hopefully, she can be ready for the cup final. Martha, Celin and Drew are all back in the squad.”
