Ange Postecoglou gave an update on Cristian Romero and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in Melbourne on Tuesday evening, ahead of our post-season encounter against Newcastle United at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The pair haven't made the trip to Australia, and Ange explained why they were missing at his pre-match press conference before our open training session at AAMI Park, next door to the iconic stadium that will host our match as part of Global Football Week in the city on Wednesday (7.45pm local, 10.45am UK).

Ange said: "Cuti is more for personal reasons. He's got to fly back to Argentina. Pierre had an injury going into the last game, he was kind of touch and go and after the game, pulled up sore.

"Again, because we were getting straight on a flight, it didn't make any sense when the flight is that long to bring guys like that along. Everyone else got through unscathed, so we'll have a full compliment from the squad we took away and some young players as well who will get some game time."
