New deal for Abbott

We are delighted to announce that George Abbott has signed a new contract with the Club, which will run until 2027.

The 18-year-old first joined us in the Under-8s and has been an influential figure in our Academy sides during the subsequent years, operating either as a central defensive midfielder or at right-back for the Under-21s.

Captain of the latter age group in recent months, he has further demonstrated his versatility this term by filling in at centre-back on occasion.

Part of the young team that won the Under-17 and Under-18 Premier League Cup double in 2022/23, George made his first team debut as a late substitute on the final day of last season in our 4-1 Premier League victory at Leeds United.

On the international stage, he has represented England at Under-18 and Under-19 levels to date.
