You can always find Celin Bizet beaming with a smile, trying to make others laugh, and her vibrant energy has been translated onto the pitch this season.
The Norway international has already surpassed her goal tally from last season, finding the back of the net on four occasions in the WSL in this campaign, two more than in the 2022/23 campaign.
She has also been a consistent performer in Robert Vilahamn’s side, starting in 18 of the 19 games she has featured in the WSL this season, and the 22-year-old praised the trust the Swedish boss has had in her in his first full season at the Club.
Speaking in an exclusive interview in the matchday programme ahead of West Ham United, Celin said: “I talked to Robert and the staff at the beginning of the season about having more goals and assists in my game and, obviously, I have achieved that compared to last season.
It really suits me as a player where I can stand higher up the pitch, get the ball in and around the box, and create opportunities.
“That’s one of the checks on my list I wanted to complete, but I have plenty more to achieve and I just want to develop. I’m happy with four goals but I still want more,” our number 14 added.
“From not starting much last season to playing more now, having plenty more minutes, it has been challenging but also been fun,” she explained. “It has been the first season in my career where I have played this amount, so I appreciate Robert’s trust in me and all my team-mates, it has been really good.
“We have played the exact style of play throughout the whole season and that makes it easy for players to come into the starting XI. It really suits me as a player where I can stand higher up the pitch, get the ball in and around the box, and create opportunities.”
Saturday’s matchday programme against West Ham United will be on sale at the game and is also available to buy online…
