Ange sets rare Premier League home record and a scoreline not seen for 130 matches!

Ange Postecoglou's first Premier League season at the helm was a record-breaking one for many reasons.

Guiding us to a fifth-place finish to secure a return to European football in the UEFA Europa League in 2024/25, the first Australian to manage in England's top flight - who recently reflected on his maiden campaign in English football, watch our exclusive interview below - enjoyed a scintillating unbeaten start with eight wins and two draws to wrack up 26 points after 10 league games - the most of any manager in their first 10 matches in the competition.

Despite a subsequent challenging next part of the campaign due to injuries and suspensions, we managed to score in our opening 27 matches - part of a wider Club record 39-game scoring streak in our Premier League history - to set a record for the start of any manager's tenure, while Ange also fostered a team spirit to accumulate the most points from losing positions (25) set by the Club in a single term in the new era.

However, beneath all the headline records, sits a lesser known one that may have flown under the radar. As, for the first time in the Premier League era, we didn't register a single draw at home in an entire season and were the only side to do this in 2023/24.

This means we became only the fourth club to go a whole league campaign without seeing it end level on home soil and it was only the fifth time this has happened in the league's history since its inception in 1992/93 - after Manchester City (2008/09 & 2018/19), Manchester United (2012/13) and Chelsea (2016/17).

Our previous stalemate at home?

A 2-2 draw against Manchester United in April, 2023 - recovering from 2-0 down at half-time through second-half goals from Pedro Porro and Heung-Min Son to see the points shared.

Sticking to the draws theme, as far as scoreless stalemates in England's top division are concerned, 0-0 has turned into somewhat of a collectors' item for us in recent years. Having concluded another 38-game season in 2023/24, it's been 81 matches since either side has failed to score in our league matches. Our previous such result? Away to Brentford in April, 2022 - the first match of a six-game unbeaten streak to close out the 2021/22 campaign.

What about at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium? Well, quite remarkably, that's one league result that has never happened since we moved into our 62,850-seat stadium back in April, 2019. That's 100 league matches of top-flight action without it ending goalless at the Stadium. Our last 0-0 draw in N17? That came in the Champions League last 16 against AC Milan in March, 2023.

In fact, as far as home 0-0 draws are concerned, we have to venture out of north London to the west of the capital and to our temporary home of Wembley Stadium. Delving back six seasons to the 2017/18 campaign, the hub of the English game bore witness to no goals in a fixture with Swansea City in September, 2017 - a whopping 130 league games ago.
