Spurs 2-1 Luton | Ange’s verdict: “We kept playing our football and got our rewards”

Ange Postecoglou felt the players got what they deserved after coming from 1-0 down to beat Luton Town 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Heung-Min Son struck four minutes from time after another raid down the flanks - this time from Timo Werner – to secure the points with a milestone goal - that was his 160th in all competitions to move him into the top five of our all-time top goalscorers.

Sonny kept his head to finish from a lovely touch from Brennan Johnson. On at half-time, the Wales flier made quite an impact, setting up our equaliser - turned into his own net by Issa Kabore with Werner ready to tap in - before that key assist for Sonny.

I thought the lads stayed really calm, kept playing our football, probing and eventually got our rewards

Speaking on the Review Show, Ange told us: “It was a good performance, certainly dominated the game, had enough chances, made it difficult for ourselves with a disappointing goal we conceded.

“I thought the lads kept their heads really well in the second half, kept playing our football, all the subs made an impact when they came on and we got what we deserved. That’s testament to the lads’ belief in what we’re doing, especially at this time of the year, every game is important, not just for us, but for every team.

“It’s only natural that there’s some anxiety in the stands, but like I said, the boys believe in the process in our football, kept peppering away and in the end, both of our goals came from good moves and I thought that was important.”
