Ange Postecoglou has hailed the hard work of Pedro Porro after the right-back was recalled to the Spanish national team ahead of this month’s friendlies against Colombia and Brazil.

The 24-year-old has thrived in Ange’s team this season and it was confirmed on Friday that he’s back in the international picture, some 12 months after his last call-up.

Capped twice at senior level to date, the right-back earned praise from our Head Coach after news of his inclusion in Spain’s latest squad broke.

“It’s brilliant and well deserved – he’s been outstanding all year,” Ange told SPURSPLAY on Friday afternoon.

He’s adapted so well and credit to him, he’s worked really hard.

“He’s worked awfully hard on his game on both the offensive and defensive side. We’ve obviously put some different demands on that position, but he’s adapted so well and credit to him, he’s worked really hard.

“He never let it get him down at any stage, the fact that he wasn’t part of the national team, I think it’s well-deserved and hopefully he gets an opportunity to show what he can do.”

Spain face Colombia at the London Stadium next Friday (22 March, 8.30pm UK) before taking on Brazil at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday 26 March (8.30pm UK).
