Mon 11 March 2024, 12:25|Tottenham Hotspur

Heung-Min Son has drawn level with legendary former winger Cliff Jones on 159 goals for the Club in all competitions.

That means the South Korea star is now joint-fifth in our all-time goalscoring charts - one more goal, and he'll step into our all-time top five.

Sonny's 159th goal, his 14th this season, was a trademark, clinical finish to put us 3-0 up in a key match against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday. It came after great work down the right between Pedro Porro and Deki Kulusevski, a one-two sent Deki clear and he drove into the penalty area before cutting back for Sonny to bury first-time with his right foot from 14 yards.

Now Club captain, that was Sonny's 117th goal in the Premier League. He is second behind Harry Kane in our all-time European goalscoring list on 24 with an additional 14 in the FA Cup and four in the League Cup since joining us from Bayer Leverkusen at the start of the 2015/16 season. He's scored his 159 goals in 397 appearances.

One of our all-time greats, a double-winner in Bill Nicholson's all-conquering team of the early 1960s, Cliff - who recently turned 89 - scored 159 goals in 378 appearances for us between 1958-68. He also won the FA Cup in 1962, the European Cup Winners Cup in 1963 and a third FA Cup in 1967.
