Ange Postecoglou had positive news on Micky van de Ven after the centre-back was forced out three minutes into the second half of our 4-0 win at Aston Villa on Sunday.
The outstanding Dutch defender pulled up just moments after making a lunging block and he was soon replaced by Radu Dragusin, who impressed in his longest stint in a Spurs shirt to date, 45 minutes alongside Cuti Romero after we played 10 minutes of added time at Villa Park, where goals from James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Heung-Min Son and Timo Werner saw us home to a key victory.
Asked about Micky on our Review Show, Ange told us: “No news yet, but it doesn’t look significant. He obviously felt something, but speaking to him, he doesn’t feel that it’s anything too serious. Hopefully, he’s not out for too long.”
Asked about him in his post-match press conference, Ange said: “I’m not sure, he doesn’t think it’s anything too significant. So disappointing for him because he was outstanding again up until that point. Great for Radu to come in, his first significant game time in a big game and I thought he handled it really well.”
