Under-21s learn Bristol Street Motors Trophy opponents

The draw for the group stage of the 2024/25 Bristol Street Motors (EFL) Trophy has been made, with our Under-21s placed into Southern Group G along with Bristol Rovers, Exeter City and Swindon Town.

It will mark the first time we’ve faced any of those clubs in this competition.

The draw was conducted today, placing the 16 invited Under-21 teams from Premier League clubs into the previously-drawn groups of EFL sides.

We will face each of the other three clubs in our group away from home, with dates and ticket information to be confirmed in due course.

The competition, which gives young players a chance to test themselves competitively against senior EFL sides, is initially split into northern and southern sections, each with eight groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages.

Southern Group A: Birmingham City, Shrewsbury Town, Walsall, Fulham U21s.
Southern Group B: AFC Wimbledon, Crawley Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Brighton & Hove Albion U21s.
Southern Group C: Bromley, Cambridge United, Charlton Athletic, Chelsea U21s.
Southern Group D: Gillingham, Peterborough United, Stevenage, Crystal Palace U21s.
Southern Group E: Colchester United, Leyton Orient, Milton Keynes Dons, Arsenal U21s.
Southern Group F: Burton Albion, Northampton Town, Notts County, Leicester City U21s.
Southern Group G: Bristol Rovers, Exeter City, Swindon Town, Tottenham Hotspur U21s.
Southern Group H: Cheltenham Town, Newport County, Reading, West Ham United U21s.
