Martha Thomas made it five goals in two games for Scotland to secure an emphatic 5-0 victory over Israel in the EURO 2025 qualifiers on Tuesday evening at BSC Stadium, Hungary.

Having scored in the reverse fixture four days ago, where Scotland recorded a 4-1 win at Hampden Park, Martha continued her excellent goalscoring form by netting a further four goals – two in each half – in the impressive performance in Budapest.

Earning her 36th cap for her country, the 28-year-old broke the deadlock just before the quarter hour mark as Martha made a well-timed run to latch on to Claire Emsile’s pass and slotted the ball under the goalkeeper.

Scotland doubled their lead in the 37th minute and it was our number 17 for her second, heading home Lisa Evans’ cross, before completing her hat-trick as the clock ticked towards the final quarter of the match, linking up with Evans once again as she guided her cross into the top left corner.

Three minutes later, Martha grabbed her fourth goal of the game as she rose highest to Nicola Docherty’s cross to head home. She went on to complete 83 minutes for Pedro Martinez Lopez’s side, with Chelsea Cornet rounding off the scoring the in the closing stages.

That result maintains Scotland’s unbeaten start to their EURO 2025 qualifiers and sees them currently top of their qualification group with 10 points in four games, while the four goals for Martha took her tally to 19 goals for her country.
