A number of our players were in action on Tuesday evening as the final set of fixtures for the latest international window came to an end, with UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 qualifiers and friendlies taking place.

Luana Bühler started and completed 90 minutes as Switzerland suffered their first loss of their EURO 2025 qualifiers, falling to a 1-0 defeat to Hungary in Budapest. Emoke Papai handed the hosts the lead in the final quarter of the match before Ramona Bachmann missed a spot-kick in the fourth minute of injury time.

Forward Martha Thomas continued her excellent goalscoring form for Scotland in this international break as she netted four goals in their 5-0 win over Israel, making it five goals in two games for her country - eight in four appearances in 2024.

Eveliina Summanen and Olga Ahtinen helped Finland to an impressive point against Netherlands at Tammelan Stadion. Eveliina started the match in Tampere, Finland, and played the full 90 minutes, while Olga was a second half substitute, coming on in the 67th minute, as Jutta Rantala netted the equaliser 10 minutes later, cancelling out Lineth Beerensteyn’s opener for the Netherlands.

Preparations for next month’s Olympic Games in Paris continued in the last few days as Charlotte Grant’s Australia and Shelina Zadorsky’s Canada, who are the reigning Olympic champions, were involved in friendlies.

Shelina made her 100th appearances for Canada as she started and completed 90 minutes in their 1-1 draw with Mexico and capped the performance with an assist for Kadeisha Buchanan’s goal.

‘Charli’ was a late second half substitute as Australia drew 1-1 with Shuang Wang’s China at Accor Stadium in front of 76,798 – the biggest-ever crowd for a Matildas match on home soil.

The defender was named as one of the four travelling reserve players in Australia National Team squad for the Paris Olympic Games, where she can be selected as an replacement athlete in case of injury or withdrawal of one of the selected 18 players in Tony Gustavsson’s side throughout the tournament.

Elsewhere, Drew Spence was introduced in the 76th minute as Jamaica were defeated 4-0 by Brazil in their friendly while Becky Spencer was an unused substitute in the game.

Forward Rosella Ayane featured in Morocco’s 3-2 win over DR Congo in their friendly on Monday (3 June) night, earning her 32nd cap for her country.
