Internationals | Rodrigo starts in big win for Uruguay

Rodrigo Bentancur put in an eye-catching display in Uruguay's 4-0 friendly win over Mexico in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Starting in a three-man midfield in Denver, Colorado, 'Lolo' may not have registered a goal involvement but he certainly played his part in La Celeste's first and second goals. Firstly, his creative role in Darwin Nunez's opener just seven minutes in was crucial, threading a lovely pass to right-back Nahitan Nandez whose cross was parried straight to the Liverpool striker who supplied the finish.
After Mexico's Roberto Alvarado rattled the crossbar from 25 yards out seven minutes later, our midfielder was then the catalyst for Facundo Pelestri's goal to double their advantage on 26 minutes. Receiving the ball in the centre circle inside his own half, our number 30 played a neat give-and-go with Manuel Ugarte before playing in Brian Rodriguez who squared for Pelestri to score.
Nunez completed his hat-trick and the scoreline with two strikes either side of half-time, as Rodrigo got almost a full game under his belt when he was replaced by Cesar Araujo in the 89th minute in what was an impressive display from the Uruguayans in their only warm-up match ahead of the Copa America this month.
Marcelo Bielsa's side have been drawn in Group C with hosts United States, Bolivia and Panama, starting their campaign against Panama in Miami, Florida on 24 June (kick-off 2am UK).
