Global coaching team deliver in Melbourne

Sat 01 June 2024, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Eight events and over 300 young footballers coached in four days - our Global Football Development team certainly made their presence felt on our post-season trip to Melbourne!

The team - Head of Global Coach Chris Acaster, Football Development Manager Danny Mitchell and International Football Development Manager Shannon Moloney - led five coaching sessions at Trinity Grammar, as we celebrated new multi-year football coaching partnership with the school, a first for the Australian state of Victoria.

On top of that, Danny and Shannon teamed up with men's first team stars Guglielmo Vicario and Oliver Skipp, alongside players from two of Melbourne's sporting teams - Aussie Rules side Collingwood FC and A-League side Melbourne Victory - at an AIA Community Football Event at the AIA Vitality Centre. Always a presence at the first team's events on Tour, the Global coaches also provided support in our fan parks at Open Training and AAMI Park and our match against Newcastle United at the famous MCG.

Chris reflected: "We have had a phenomenal week in Melbourne, working with over 300+ players and coaches as we showcased our world renowned coaching philosophy. The passion for the game in Melbourne is incredible with so many aspiring players keen to take their game to the next level. We are very much looking forward to coming back in the near future to continue to support the growth of the game with our Spurs Football Development partners across the country.”

Our GFD team deliver world-class technical and development programmes for players and coaches across the globe, providing each individual with the opportunity to play the game, learn and develop their skills with the flair, fluidity and attacking football which are the hallmarks of Spurs.
