Euro 2024 | Hojbjerg helps Denmark into last 16

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg put in another full shift as Denmark picked up the point they needed against Serbia to advance to the knockout stages of Euro 2024 on Tuesday evening.

The midfielder completed the full 90 minutes of what turned out to be a goalless draw in Munich.

The result was enough to see the Danes progress as the second-placed team in Group C, having drawn all three of their games.

England go through as winners of the group with five points while their opponents on Tuesday, Slovenia, will also advance as one of the best third-placed teams.

Remarkably, every game in Group C apart from England’s opening-weekend win over Serbia ended in a draw.

Denmark will now face host nation Germany on Saturday evening (8pm UK).
