Radu Dragusin was once again in the thick of the action for Romania, but couldn’t prevent his side from suffering a 2-0 defeat to Belgium at Euro 2024 on Saturday night.

The defender got forward to go close with a header shortly after Youri Tielemans had opened the scoring just 73 seconds into the Group E contest in Cologne.

He later came up with key defensive interventions to thwart Romelu Lukaku and Jeremy Doku, but couldn’t prevent Kevin De Bruyne from racing through to slot home a key second goal for Belgium 11 minutes from time.

Radu completed the full match for Romania, who are still in a good position to qualify with all four teams in their group now on three points each heading into the final round of games.

Romania face Slovakia on Wednesday.

Micky’s men in France stalemate

Micky van de Ven was an unused substitute for the Netherlands as they battled out Euro 2024’s first goalless draw with France in Leipzig on Friday evening.

The Dutch still appear on course to make it through to the knockout stages – they’re perched at the top of Group D on four points, above France on goals scored ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Austria.
