Players support children from Make-A-Wish Korea during Global Football Development session

Tue 30 July 2024, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Jamie Donley, Luca Gunter and Brandon Austin met with children and families from Make-A-Wish Foundation Korea during our pre-season tour visit to Seoul on Tuesday (30 July).

Make-A-Wish Korea was founded in December 2002, the foundation's 26th overseas branch, and has 1,500 volunteers granting wishes to about 300 children suffering from incurable diseases every year.

Our captain Heung-Min Son has supported the charity in the past when, in the lead up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he met with Sang-ho, a boy battling paediatric cancer, whose wish was to meet him through Make-A-Wish Korea.

Donley, Gunter and Austin joined a football session run by our Global Football Development programmes for 13 children from the charity, which included basic non-contact technical drills.

Support for local charitable causes is a key part of what we do on tour. The Club recognises the unique, positive impact we can make on the lives of children and families going through unimaginably difficult times and we are proud to show our support for the incredible work Make-A- Wish Foundation do to bring joy to sick children.

Through our partnership back home with Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, as well as through our own charitable Foundation, the Club has been committed to providing life-changing opportunities through sport for some of society's most vulnerable groups.
