Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has expressed his disappointment after his nation Denmark's Euro 2024 journey came to end on Saturday night against Germany.
Having finished second in Group C behind England, the Danes earned a round of 16 clash with the Championship's hosts in Dortmund. Pierre started the game, picking up his 81st cap, but could not prevent his side from falling 2-0 at Signal Iduna Park.
Speaking on his official instagram channel, the midfielder said: "Our dream ended here and moments like these hurt a lot. It is with will, fight and heart in the right place that we have defended the red/white colours the last few weeks in Germany.
"However, it is our motivation and dream to bring us back, even stronger, so that we can stand as winners in these moments. The pride of being able to experience this support from fans and a whole country behind you is unique. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and see you again soon. Come on Denmark ❤️"
