On the day of his 32nd birthday, Heung-Min Son was welcomed back to well wishes, big embraces and even a surprise gift box as he reported for pre-season at Hotspur Way.

Our Club captain returned on Monday (8 July) following a well-earned summer break after international commitments with South Korea kept him in action until 11 June, captaining his nation to victories over Singapore and China in World Cup qualifiers to move to 127 caps and 48 goals in the process.

Spending quality time back home in South Korea after the conclusion of last season, Sonny was then given a proper send off from adoring fans in Seoul as he received birthday cards and blew out a candle on a cake at Incheon International Airport.

Keeping up the birthday celebrations upon his arrival in north London, the forward - who registered 17 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League last term and enjoyed a milestone campaign that saw him take his overall Spurs appearances to 408 - was surprised with balloons and also birthday messages from teammates old and new at our Enfield training base.

After receiving celebratory hugs from members of the playing squad, our number seven got back to business with gym work before heading out on the grass for some on-pitch drills as the spirits looked on point in pre-season training.

Sonny will be returning to Seoul for the second part of our summer tour to Asia which sees us first visit Japan and then onto South Korea at the end of July and into August. Until then, Ange Postecoglou's side continue to train at Hotspur Way with away friendlies against Scottish side Heart of Midlothian and Championship outfit Queen's Park Rangers coming before our pre-season tour of Asia begins in Tokyo.
