Big Green Coach launches electric coach service to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Big Green Coach, the UK's leading provider of sustainable coach travel to major events, has today announced the addition of its first electric vehicle to the regional coach network that serves all the Club’s home matches at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 

Yutong’s TCe12 electric coach, powered by 281kw battery which delivers 200 miles on a single charge, will transport fans between Maidstone, Hempstead Valley, Gillingham, Dartford Bluewater and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from the beginning of the upcoming 2024/25 season.

In line with its Sustainability Strategy, Big Green Coach aims to continue to add electric vehicles to its services, with the Club committed to minimising the environmental impact of its operations. Tottenham Hotspur was recently awarded the ISO20121 standard for sustainable event management.

Donna-Maria Cullen, the Club’s Executive Director, said: “As the Premier League’s greenest club, we are committed to ensuring our fans are provided with as many options as possible to be able to travel to our matches sustainably and delighted to be working with Big Green Coach to further limit the amount of private car usage on event days. The new electric coach service being provided to and from four key destinations in our supporter heartlands this season is the latest step on the Club’s journey to reach net zero and a continuation of Big Green Coach’s fantastic contribution to making our stadium a green travel destination.” 

Since 2021, Big Green Coach has been working with UK charity Ecolibrium to offset carbon emissions and invest in environmental restoration. Recognising that carbon offsetting is not the only factor in achieving its sustainability objectives, Big Green Coach’s strategy includes and encourages the adoption of electric vehicles to its network.

It’s also apt that Big Green Coach is offering these initially to our Tottenham Hotspur Stadium services, as the Club is recognised as the Premier League's greenest club for a fifth year running. We also look forward to extending the use of electric coaches across festivals and major music concerts that we are the official coach partner for.”

This launch coincides with Big Green Coach’s sixth season as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s official transport supplier. The eco-friendly travel options provided by Big Green Coach play a crucial role in reducing the carbon footprint associated with matchday travel, supporting the Club's ongoing commitment to sustainability.
