Heung-Min Son opened his goalscoring account at the 2023 Asian Cup as he helped South Korea to a 2-2 draw with Jordan on Saturday.
Captaining his nation once more, Sonny gave his side the lead on minutes as they clashed with Group E leaders Jordan in Doha, winning before converting a penalty kick with a panenka finish at the Al-Thumama Stadium - that was his first goal at the Asian Cup since scoring in the 2015 final defeat to Australia.

There was frustration for Korea though as their middle eastern opponents got themselves level via a Park Yong-Woo own goal eight minutes before the break before they fell behind in injury time at the end of the first period - Yazan Al-Naimat findinng the target for Jordan.
That was an advantage Jordan did well to hold onto throughout the second half but, Korea's persistent hunt for a leveller would be fruitful as Yazan Al-Arab diverted a shot into his own net after Sonny had delivered the ball into the area.
And that goal was enough to earn Korea a point which mean, with Monday's win over Bahrain, Sonny's side now sit second on four points, level with leaders Jordan with one game to play. That comes on Thursday as they face Malaysia knowing a win would see them through to the knockout stages.
It was Sonny's 118th cap and 41st goal for his nation.
