Ashley Phillips and Alfie Devine are enjoying fine starts to their loan spells at Plymouth Argyle.
Having both headed down to Devon earlier this month - Ashley making his move on 8 January before Alfie followed on Wednesday - the pair have made an instant impact at Home Park.
Beginning with Ashley, who joined us from Blackburn Rovers in the summer, he made his debut for Argyle and played the full 90 minutes as they earned a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town last weekend - he was named by supporters as their Player of the Match for his efforts at the John Smith's Stadium
He then started again for the Green Army and played the full match yesterday afternoon (Saturday 20 January) as they ran out 3-1 winners over Cardiff City. As did Alfie Devine.
Straight in from the off for Argyle for his Championship debut, the midfielder, who registered five goal involvements on loan at Port Vale in the first half of the campaign, took just 31 minutes to record his first in green and white as he crossed low into the area to assist Ryan Hardie's opener. He played 77 minutes in the victory.
Moving up to 15th in the Championship with the win, next up for Plymouth is an FA Cup fourth round trip to Leeds United on Saturday (27 January). While Ashley will be eligible to be selected for the game though, Alfie will not having played for Port Vale in the competition's earlier rounds.
