Bentancur named Player of the Match following Old Trafford display

Rodrigo Bentancur has been named our supporters' HSBC Player of the Match after his goal and overall performance in our 2-2 draw at Manchester United on Sunday.

Claiming his maiden Player of the Match award of the season, Rodrigo claimed 42 per cent of the vote in an exclusive poll on our official app straight after the game.

In a game we dominated, 'Lolo' was commanding in the heart of our midfield, pulling the strings as we controlled possession on United's turf and picked up a point in the north west.

We had to fightback from an early setback with Rasmus Hojlund opening the scoring within three minutes, but we were back on terms on 19 minutes with Richarlison's glancing header. United edged back in front just before the half-time whistle with Marcus Rashford finding the target against the run of play but Rodrigo made sure a bright start to the second half from ourselves paid dividends, running onto Timo Werner's pass to slam the ball in for his first goal since February.
