It's official! Micky van de Ven has registered the fastest ever sprint by a player in the Premier League.
Famed for his incredible speed, Micky clocked a mind-blowing top speed of 37.38 km/h (23.22mph) in our 3-2 win over Brentford last Wednesday - the highest speed by a player on record in England's top flight since records began in 2020.
To put his exhilarating sprint into perspective, the fastest man to have lived, Usain Bolt, ran his world-record breaking 100m sprint at the 2008 Olympic Games at an average of 23.35mph. That's just 0.13mph faster than Micky's top speed!
In terms of the Premier League, Micky overtakes the record previously set by former Spurs man and now of Manchester City, Kyle Walker, who recorded a speed of 37.31km/h in City's trip to Everton in May, 2023.
Within the top 10, there is another Spurs man as sitting with the eighth highest speed ever recorded in the top flight. That is Brennan Johnson, who hit a speed of 36.70 km/h against Manchester City in February, 2023, when at former club Nottingham Forest.
💨 @SpursOfficial's Micky van de Ven completed the quickest sprint ever recorded in the Premier League this season!
