This is the place Kit Graham wants to be.
Putting pen to paper on a new contract on Thursday afternoon, Kit committed her future with the Club until 2025.
Having signed for us in August, 2019, ahead of our first-ever season in the Barclays Women’s Super League, she has continued to develop year-on-year and has embraced a new role under Robert Vilahamn this season.
Now, in her fifth campaign with the Club, Kit is excited to be part of the project that Robert Vilahamn has built so far and reflected on the progress in the first half of the campaign.
“I’m delighted to have committed my future with the Club,” Kit said to SPURSPLAY. “It was a no brainer when the Club approached me to offer me a new contract. This is where I want to be and I’m enjoying the project that Robert is bringing across.
“When you come to the end of your contract, you are always wondering what will happen next, but it allows me to settle a bit and I can just focus on the football now.
You can already see the progress we have made this season, and I can only see the Club getting better and bigger.
“You can already see the progress we have made this season, and I can only see the Club getting better and bigger, which is exciting. I think the performances we have been putting are a complete contrast to last season.
“The belief in the squad when we concede goals, we can come back and win games. We have shown a lot more in the team and I want to be a part of it.”
With Robert embracing adaptability among his team, it has seen Kit flourish as a deep-lying midfielder in the first half of the campaign and the 28-year-old is relishing the challenge of a new role.
“I’m a player that really likes to be on the ball and that role actually offers me the chance to get on the ball more, look to create opportunities - I’m really enjoying it at the minute,” Kit added.
“There’s still a lot for me to learn, but I enjoy learning from the likes of Drew [Spence], Eveliina [Summanen] and Olga [Athinen]. The defensive side I’m not use to, so I’m enjoying learning a new aspect of my game and continue my development."
