Getting to know...
Charlotte Grant

The latest player in the GTK hotseat is one of our January signings Charlotte Grant.
The Australia international made the move to Hotspur Way in the first week of the January transfer window and has already made seven appearances in Lilywhite in all competitions.
Published first and exclusively in our official matchday programme, we sat down with 'Charli' for this popular Q&A.
WHO?
Who is your footballing idol?
“I have had a few footballing idols, but I would say a local player for Adelaide, Emma Checker, was one of my idols growing up and then a lot of the Matildas have also been my role models.”
Who is your biggest influence?
“I would say my family were my biggest influence. In the world of sport, it would be a surfer called Sally Fitzsgibbions, just for the lifestyle she leads and the commitment to her sport really inspired me that I was on the right direction and influenced me to make it as a professional.”
Who would you most like to see in concert?
“I haven’t seen The 1975 in concert, so I would probably say them, or Harry Styles would be pretty cool.”

Where would you most like to visit?
“The Amalifi Coast in Italy would definitely have to be there.”
Where is your favourite restaurant?
“There’s a restaurant in Sweden, in Malmo, called Miso, which served Sushi and I love Sushi, so that has to be one of my favourites.”
Where do you go when you need to relax?
“When there’s a beach around, I would go there. But, if not, there’s some lovely parks in Europe that makes up for that.”
Where did you make your professional debut?
“It was at the Suncorp Stadium against Brisbane Roar when I was 17 years old.”

HOW?
How do you spend your free time?
“It would either be calling family back home, playing cards with friends or going out for a coffee.”
How do you overcome personal setbacks?
“Just always focusing on what I can control and using the support system I have around me with my family and friends.”
How do you switch off?
“I love just putting on Netflix shows, especially Grey's Anatomy as that’s one of my favourite shows or Friends, I do enjoy watching that.”
How many superstitions do you have?
“I have about two, I always retie my laces before I go out for a game and then I love having pasta around 24 hours before a game.”

What have you always wanted to learn?
“I would have learned to dance. I have got no rhythm, so to learn to dance would be pretty cool.”
What is your favourite moment of your career so far?
“Playing at a World Cup, that was very special.”
What was the first football shirt you owned?
“It was a Barcelona jersey with Lionel Messi’s name on the back. I just always liked Messi when growing up – like every young kid really – so I jumped on the bandwagon.”
What other sport would you play if not football?
“I would probably be playing Netball, I had to choose between that or soccer, so I chose the latter.”
WHEN?

When did you last cook?
“That’s a good question! I have been living in a hotel or at home, so I don’t think I have cooked that much, but I did cook some sausage rolls about a month ago. I do enjoy cooking – it’s just the cleaning up part that I’m not a big fan of.”
When did you last go to the cinema?
“When I went back home in November, I went to watch the new Hunger Games movie. I was really jet-lagged when I went to see it, so I thought I wouldn’t be able to stay awake, but I managed and that shows you how good it was.”
When are you at your happiest?
“When I’m with my family and my boyfriend back home, that’s when I’m at my happiest, and also playing football, obviously.”
When was your last fancy dress party?
“I went to the Amari Claire Awards Night as the Australian team won one of the awards there, so that was really fun.”
