Liverpool vs Spurs (WSL) | Team news | Ashleigh Neville injury update

Thu 01 February 2024, 15:55|Tottenham Hotspur

Ashleigh Neville is set to face a number of weeks on the sidelines after picking up a grade two ankle injury.

The experienced defender – who has featured in 11 of the 12 WSL games so far this campaign - missed last week’s game against Manchester City at Brisbane Road and Robert Vilahamn confirmed that her injury is slightly worse than first thought and will miss our remaining games this month, starting with the trip to Prenton Park on Sunday afternoon against Liverpool.

In other absentees, midfielder Drew Spence (hamstring) remains unavailable.

Speaking about Ashleigh’s injury in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Robert said: “It's a twisted ankle, but it's actually a grade two. It’s a bit more complicated than we first thought and it will probably be three or five weeks she will be unavailable, so she has started her rehab now.

“Drew is fighting to get back and she’s getting closer, but just isn’t there yet.”
