Will Lankshear spoke of an “amazing” experience after gracing Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with an 11-minute hat-trick in Saturday’s Under-21 victory over Fleetwood Town.
The in-form striker, named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for January, rattled in three goals between the 28th and 39th minutes – the fastest treble in the history of our new stadium – to help Wayne Burnett’s side secure a resounding 6-0 victory in the Premier League Cup round of 16.
Dane Scarlett, Nile John and Yago Santiago were also on the scoresheet, with Will delighted at how the afternoon went.
“I’m over the moon! I thought the team did really well – we executed the plan perfectly,” he told SPURSPLAY. “We’ve worked so hard during the week under Wayne and Nigel (Gibbs) – they’ve put in so much work to help get us into the next round and this game really reflected the work we’ve done in the week, so that was really good.
“We gave them (Fleetwood) no hope. I thought from the very first whistle, really the team was absolutely amazing and every individual played their part.
“It was amazing to play here at the stadium as well – the pitch and the whole place is something that the boys love to experience, we really relished it and hopefully we’ll have a chance to play here again.”

Will, whose hat-trick was two minutes less in duration than Heung-Min Son’s memorable treble off the bench against Leicester City in the Premier League last season, saw all of his goals assisted by Jamie Donley – three of four assists during the game for the latter.
“Me and Jamie have built up quite a good relationship – I think he’s assisted the majority of my goals this year,” added Will.
“When he gets on the ball, I sort of know where to be and what he wants to do and I think he knows what I want to do, and I think that’s why we complement each other so well.”
