In-form striker Will Lankshear has won the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January.
Having also been shortlisted for the monthly prize in November, Will has this time seen off competition from seven other Under-21 players from around the league to claim the trophy.
The forward scored five goals in just two league games at Under-21 level last month, plus another in the Premier League Cup.
His haul included a fantastic hat-trick in our 5-3 home win over Aston Villa on 27 January, plus a brace as we won 3-2 at Southampton on 12 January.
The 18-year-old rounded off the month with a late winner in our home tie with Bristol City in the Premier League Cup on 30 January, which rubber-stamped our place in the knockout stages with a game to spare.
Also shortlisted for the January prize were Kenneth Aboh of Norwich City, Caden Kelly of Sunderland, Nathan Lowe of Stoke City, Manchester United’s Sam Mather, Jimmy-Jay Morgan of Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Jacob Slater and Franco Umeh of Crystal Palace.
The nominees and overall winner were selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel after club coaches proposed the best performances by opposing players throughout last month.
Will becomes the second Spurs player to win the award this season after Jamie Donley was named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for October.
