Getting to know...
Brennan Johnson

The latest player in the GTK hotseat is our livewire forward, Brennan Johnson.
Snapped up from Forest on 1 September, Brennan has already delivered some big moments in a Spurs shirt - three goals, four assists in the Premier League - most recently firing home a late, late winner against Brighton.
Published first and exclusively in our official matchday programme, we sat down with Brennan for this popular Q&A earlier in the season...
Who?

Who is your football idol?
"Lionel Messi, just the dribbling, the skill. For me, the best player in the world."
Who is the biggest joker in the pack?
"I’m going to say Pedro Porro. A great guy, always happy, always planning something. If he’s around you, you have to look out!"
Who do you message most on WhatsApp, apart from family?
"It’s probably my friends’ group chat, friends from back home in Nottingham, and it’s never really about football, to be honest, just stuff that we all find funny."
Who is your favourite actor?
"I’ll say Liam Neeson, I’ve watched most of his films and enjoyed them."

Where in the world would you most like to visit?
"South America or somewhere in Asia, like South Korea or Tokyo, somewhere like that."
Where is a place that feels like home?
"Our family home in Nottingham."
Where do you go shopping?
"I don’t do too much physical shopping, walking around. One of my good friends is in fashion, has a few different clients, goes to different cities and he takes photos of the different shops he goes to and, if I like something, he’ll bring the items to me. If I do go out in London, there are a few shops in Soho I like."
Where would you go if you could go back in time?
"You know what, I’d go back to a family holiday we had in Barbados when I was 14, just to relive it."

HOW?
How do you spend any free time that you get?
"Just chilling, to be honest, especially with the way we train here, it’s very tiring and there isn’t too much time to do much more, so, chilling with friends and family if they’re down here, maybe go for a meal."
How do you like your eggs in the morning?
"I’ll go for scrambled."
How did you get into football?
"My dad (David) was playing when I was younger, so he was training a lot, I used to have a kick around with my mum and my grandparents in the garden, but obviously watching my dad always made me want to play football."
How do you switch off after a game?
"Being with family, friends… if the game has gone well, they will want to speak about it, but they are quite good at taking my mind off it and speaking about other things. That’s good, because you want to stay on a level as there is always another game around the corner."
