Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Cristian Romero is due to train this weekend as the squad prepare for Sunday's London derby with Chelsea.

The central defender has not featured this side of the November international break with his last appearance coming against Ipswich Town on 10 November as he recovers from a foot injury sustained against Aston Villa on 3 November.

Speaking at his press conference on Friday morning, Ange gave this update on Cuti ahead of this weekend's Premier League derby with the Blues (4.30pm).

"Cuti's due to train, we're not doing much today but we'll see how he goes tomorrow," said our Head Coach.

In a fresh blow to our defensive ranks, Ben Davies was a casualty from Thursday night's 1-0 defeat at AFC Bournemouth after the versatile defender was forced off just after the hour mark at the Vitality Stadium.

The centre-back lined-up for his fourth successive start in the absence of Cuti and Micky van de Ven but the Wales international went down holding the back of his left leg with Ange confirming post-match it looked like a hamstring issue.

Asked for an update on Ben's condition, the Australian said: "It's too early (to say), 10 hours after it happened, he'll have a scan today and we'll find out more."
