Team news | Ange’s update on Destiny's injury after Wolves draw

Ange Postecoglou confirmed Destiny Udogie was forced off with a hamstring issue in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Wolves.
The full-back went down holding the back of his right leg five minutes into the second half and, after treatment, was replaced by Sergio Reguilon.
It’s another defensive blow for Ange with Cuti Romero, Micky van de Ven, Ben Davies and Guglielmo Vicario all still sidelined. Djed Spence was also suspended for Wolves, while Radu Dragusin overcame an ankle problem sustained at Forest on Boxing Day to complete another 90 minutes. The bad news keeps coming as well for Ange as Rodrigo Bentancur picked up a fifth yellow card of the campaign and will now be suspended for Saturday’s visit of Newcastle (12.30pm UK).
Asked in our Review Show about Destiny, Ange told us: Yes, it’s a hamstring injury, again, we’re relying on very few (players) and it was always a risk that someone could get a further injury when you’re not able to rest them. Unfortunately, Destiny is the one who paid the price today.”
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Ange added: “I think it was a hamstring. Again, like I said, we've been relying on a core group of players because we just haven't had the ability to rotate so at some point it was going to catch up with us. Unfortunately, it caught up with Destiny.
“Radu wasn't 100%, but he felt he could get through with his ankle and again, I think the players are all giving everything they can at the moment. It's just unfortunately we can't give them what they really need and that is some recovery and rest because we've got so many players out, but Radu wanted to play today and you know while he wasn't 100%, we had no choice to put him out there.
“It's fair to say we're dealing with a fair bit, and it doesn't feel we're getting a smooth run at anything in terms of getting players back and allowing us to freshen up the team. As soon as we get one back, we lose one. We've just got to get through it.”
