Loans | Abbott nets first league goal

George Abbott scored his first senior league goal to set loan club Notts County on the way to a 2-0 win at MK Dons on Boxing Day.

The 19-year-old midfielder opened the scoring in the 57th minute of the League Two clash at Stadium MK, receiving Dan Crowley’s pass and firing home via a deflection.

Crowley himself later rounded off the win for the visitors, with George once again completing the full 90 minutes.

Captain of our title-winning Under-21s last season, George’s strike arrived just a few weeks after he netted his first senior goal in memorable fashion during Notts County’s FA Cup tie away to Peterborough United.
