Ange on Vicario: "He's pushing every boundary"

Guglielmo Vicario lived every second of our Carabao Cup quarter-final win against Manchester United on crutches from the touchline at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - and Ange Postecoglou reports that the goalkeeper 'is progressing well' after undergoing ankle surgery in November.
Our Italian number one fractured his ankle during the first half of our 4-0 win against Manchester City at the Etihad on 23 November. Incredibly, he still completed the full match before it was confirmed 48 hours later that the injury had required surgery.
Asked at the time about potential timelines for his return, Ange said 'months, rather than weeks'. Since then, Vic has worked overtime to recover as quickly as possible, and was back pitchside again to be part of a memorable night with his team-mates as we toppled United to set up a semi-final clash against Liverpool over two legs in January and February.
Ange was asked for an update on Vic during his pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way on Friday, ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (4.30pm UK).
"He's going well, typical of Vic, he's pushing every boundary," said Ange. "Obviously, he's still a fair bit away, but whatever timeline that is, he will make sure he's back as quickly as possible. He's still very much around the group. We saw him last night, he's also training every day. He's so invested in what we're doing, helping the keepers, helping the whole group. He's one of the leaders and, yes, he's progressing well."
