Alfie Dorrington has been assigned his Legacy Number after he made his professional debut on Sunday evening in our 5-0 win over Southampton.
An Academy graduate and a local lad having been born and raised in Enfield, 19-year-old Alfie came on for his debut with 77 minutes on the clock at St Mary's and helped us keep our clean sheet intact.
In making his first appearance for the Club, the defender has been assigned Legacy Number 889.
An initiative to recognise every player that has played their part in our 142-year history, our Legacy Numbers project was launched in October, 2023, and has now seen 889 players honoured.
With us since the age of 13, Alfie has risen through the ranks to earn his place on the pitch for us on the south coast.
From being part of our Under-17 and Under-18 Premier League Cup winning sides in 2022/23 to being shortlisted for the Premier League 2 Player of the Year last term - an award that Will Lankshear went on to claim - Alfie has been on the cusp of our first team for well over a year now, having first been called up to a senior matchday squad back in November, 2023, for our Premier League trip to Wolves.
He was included in 10 consecutive matchday squads in the top flight before returning earlier this season for our first Europa League trip of the season as we travelled to Ferencvaros on Matchday 2.
