Mikey Moore and Leo Black have both received call-ups to the England Under-19 squad for the very first time ahead of three international friendlies hosted in Croatia next month.

A memorable few weeks for Mikey, where he scored his first senior goal in our pre-season friendly against Hearts in July and signed his first professional contract with the Club earlier this month, has just got better with his first-ever call-up to this England age group.

Having excelled at Academy level, the 17-year-old became our youngest-ever Premier League player after making his first team debut against Manchester City in May last term before then being a standout performer during the UEFA European Under-17 Championships later that month, scoring four goals and providing one assist as the Under-17s exited via a penalty shootout at the quarter-final stage.

The young attacker joins up with the 23-player Young Lions squad which also features a maiden selection in the Under-19s for Leo ahead of fixtures against Italy, Croatia and Germany.

The 18-year-old versatile defender earned his first international youth call-up at Under-18 level and impressed during their successful Under-18 Pinatar Super Cup campaign earlier this year, making his debut against Czech Republic before opening his goalscoring account in a 2-1 win over the Netherlands to see them lift the trophy in March, 2024.

With all matches to be played in Prelog, Croatia, first up is Italy on Wednesday 4 September at Stadium Nedelisce (kick-off 4pm UK) before facing Croatia (KO 3.45pm UK, Saturday 7 September) and Germany (KO 3.30pm UK, Tuesday 10 September) at Stadium Koprivnica.
