Matter of stats | Ben and Sonny lead the way as we return to Europe

Thu 29 August 2024, 16:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Ben Davies and Heung-Min Son are the squad's leading appearance makers in Europe as we prepare to return to European competition this season.

With the group draw for the new-look UEFA Europa League at 12 noon (UK time) on Friday and our first match scheduled for 25/26 September, Ben sits third on our all-time European appearance list with 65 since arriving in 2014. Indeed, the defender's debut came in the competition at AEL Limassol in Cyprus on 21 August, 2014.

Meanwhile Sonny, who scored his first goal for us in the Europa League against Qarabag on 17 September, 2015, is on 61 appearances and 24 goals, second in our all-time European goalscoring list.

It's no surprise to see Harry Kane top of both European all-time lists with 76 appearances and 45 goals between his debut against Hearts in the UEFA Cup in 2011 to his final appearance against AC Milan the Champions League in March, 2023.
